HOW TO SUBMIT
WORK The Center offers a number of opportunities for
artists to show their work. |
JURIED
EXHIBITS Twice-yearly, summer and winter, the Center hosts
open (open to all subject matter and media) juried exhibitions in its OPEN DOOR
SERIES. In addition the calendar often features thematic (as WATER)or media
driven (as photography) juried exhibits. All artists are welcome to submit
entries. Acceptance into the shows and awards are at the discretion of the
shows juror, an outside professional in the visual arts. Each exhibit
opens with a free public reception and awards presentation. Click on Exhibit
Schedules for further information on current or upcoming shows. Juried shows
are noted and have Click for Prospectus for those wanting to print the
shows entry forms, calendar and criteria (Also accessible by clicking
Call for Entries heading , these are generally posted two three months
in advance of the submission date.) Exceptional works from juried exhibition
entries often allow the staff to identify artists for participation in future
invitational exhibitions. |
PORTFOLIO
SUBMISSION The Centers exhibition schedule is
established at least one year in advance, but portfolios are accepted
year-round. Portfolios are kept on file at the Center for review when planning
or amending the exhibition schedule. Portfolios must include 5 10
representative samples of the artists work. These may be in the form of
clear photographs, each be labeled with the artists name, title of work,
medium, size and year of completion, or on a CD, accompanied by a thumbnails
printout of several of the images, with the same labeling. An artists
resume with all contact information (including daytime, evening and cell phone
numbers, email, and street addresses), a brief biography and a statement about
the work should accompany the images. All materials should be submitted in a
large envelope clearly marked with the artists name and all contact
information. |
